The Amazing 2006 Pontiac G6 Convertible

The Pontiac G6 refers to a midsize car that was first introduced in 2004 under the Pontiac brand which is a clear line of the General Motor automakers. It was first introduced in 2003 as a conceptual car to run on a supercharged V6 engine that consumed 3.5 liters and produce 285 horsepower. It was also to make 272 lbs-ft of torque, which was matted to an automatic transmission. The model was improved and structural enhancements done in 2005, 2006, 2009 and the last model of Pontiac V6 was made in 2010.

The 2006 Pontiac grand prix was modeled to run on a 3.5 L V6 engine that produced 169 horsepower. It uses 2.4 liter DOHC internal combustion 4-cylinder engine (inline-4) matted to an automatic four speed transmission. The engine features 98 mm stroke, 88mm bore and a compression ratio of 10.4, utilizing unleaded fuel in a 16 gallon main tank. It utilizes a multi-point fuel injection system and the fuel economy is 34mpg. It has a power of 125kW, 227hp.

Interior and exterior specifications

This model for 2006 featured two differently styled bodies and trim levels, namely retractable hardtop (convertible) and coupe. The exterior featured body side molding with consistent rear and front bumper body color. It has chrome and bright trims around the window sides, black door mirrors for driver and passenger. The lighting features halogen bulbs for headlights with surface lens and heat reflective glasses as well as daytime running lights. The dimension of length, width and height is 189, 70.6 and 57.1 inches respectively, with a wheelbase of 112.3, front track of 59.6 and rare track of 60 inches. The convertible has metallic paint, tinted glass, windshield and intermittent wipers, rear window defogger and luxury trim gear knob alloy look.

The interior features include air conditioner, element antenna, AM/FM and CD player audio systems, cargo area lighting, clock and a 12v power outlet. It also has a computer with average speed and fuel consumption, delayed fade lights, door-ajar warning, seat cup holders, carpet floor covering, key power locks and power steering. Other features are driver and passenger vanity mirror, electric remote trunk, front seat arm rest, glove compartment, rear view window as well as six speakers. The ventilation features a setting for recirculation of constant clean air. This 5 passenger car also has airbags and occupant sensors as well as seat upholstery with extra clothing.

Safety features

Pontiac G6 received a good score in the offset crash from the IIHS (insurance institute for highway safety). The safety features include four different disc brakes with two of them ventilated and immobilizer. It also has steel rims (space-saver) and internal spare rims. The front suspension is stunted with independent stabilizer bar as well as coil springs. Similarly the rear suspensions which are multi-link and feature stabilizer bar and coil spring.

There have been more improvements since the 2006 Pontiac G6 model which are mostly bodily changes. This car has an excellent take off speeds, fuel consumption and sporty suspensions for enhanced turning as well as a sedan panoramic sunroof.
